About the Trust
Continuing the vision of Andrew Henry Warren
The Coombe Farm estate, near Crewkerne, Somerset, was originally owned by Andrew Warren. When he sadly passed away in 1983, the estate became the A H Warren Trust. It has been sustainably farmed ever since and in 1999 officially gained Soil Association Organic status. For many years it was managed solely as a dairy farm, with a reputation for high quality cheese-making. To this day, there are three organic dairy farms that are owned by the Trust which supply milk to a local milk processor. The farm now also has an extensive flock of sheep, which are lambed outside each year, as well as rearing beef cattle and free-range chickens.
In addition to sustainably managing around 2,500 acres of Soil Association organic farmland, like many farms, diversification has been a key focus. The Trust has introduced and continues to support a diverse range of rural businesses, as well as managing a range of commercial and residential properties. Investing in diversification projects in turn offers more opportunities to nurture other rural enterprises, enabling our local community and economy to flourish, which has always been the aim of the A H Warren Trust.
