Job Overview
The AH Warren Trust are a diversified mixed organic estate based in South Somerset. Currently managing beyond 2700 acres in the rural countryside surrounding Crewkerne.
A vacancy has arisen for an Estate Worker to join our Agricultural Estates Team, responsible for the upkeep of our land, situated within a 10-mile radius of Crewkerne.
This will be a varied role for an enthusiastic person who likes to be outside working in all weathers.
Main Job Duties
- Assist with seasonal horticultural activities such a mowing and strimming. This may include some use of farm and commercial machinery.
- Assist the estate team with any horticultural projects or maintenance such as tree surgery, tree planting or hedgerow reconstruction.
- Assist the estate team with any fencing or building projects.
- Assist with any water repairs and maintenance across the estate.
Job Requirements & Qualifications:
- An enthusiastic candidate with some previous experience who has a passion for the industry.
- Reliable and flexible team player with the right attitude to fit in with the existing team.
- Someone who is self-motivated, organised and with a good attention to detail to maintain our high standards and comply with Health and Safety regulations.
- Full valid UK driving licence (Required).
- Authorisation to work within the United Kingdom (Required).
- Experience in driving/using agricultural machinery (Preferred).
- Chainsaw use/maintenance qualification (Preferred).
- Safe use and application of pesticides training (Preferred).
- Full training can be given to the right candidate
Additional Information:
- This is a full-time, permanent position working Monday to Friday, 45-50 hours per week, some seasonal weekend work and overtime will be required.
- You will receive 31 days holiday (including bank holidays) increasing to 33 days after 3 year’s continuous service.
- Enrolment onto our company pension scheme on successful completion of 3 months probation.
